Indie Relief

by admin

Following all of the news regarding damage due to the earthquake in Haiti, I wanted to get involved.  In addition to an individual contribution to the cause, I am taking part in an effort called Indie Relief to donate money gained by CardShare (through in-app-purchasing) to an organization that will help Haiti.  Basically, any applications listed on their website will be donating profits to an organization of the company’s choosing on January 20th, 2010.  And on that day, any of my profits gained by users purchasing multiple cards in CardShare will go to Haiti.  I have a couple of ideas for the charity, but am interested in the organizations you all think deserve the money.

Introducing… CardShare!

by admin

My first application, CardShare, is now live on the App Store.  CardShare is a free application for the iPhone and iPod Touch that allow users to share both personal and social network details.  Besides through the application, it also enables sending through email and SMS.  The online portal, CardShareApp.com displays your sent and received cards (once registered) so you can see which card you traded for what, or allows users to go through and view other’s social network details.  Considering the time that it took to bring this to release, I decided to take a short trip down memory lane and see what brought me to this point:

  • Over 11,000 lines of code (in the current version/online alone)
  • Over 65 graphic files that range from Photoshop to Illustrator to Maya
  • Over 40 User Interface mockups
  • A creative process spanning from 6-12 months from first idea to release

The information page should shine some more light on the functions of CardShare.  I hope you all enjoy using the application, which you can download here.

Hello.

Hello and welcome to my blog.  There isn’t much here at the moment, as I have just put the finishing touches on my first iPhone application and haven’t had much time to blog.  So until I post some more articles, browse the main site: piercefreeman.net.
