Press Coverage

by admin on February 2nd, 2010

This has been quite a day.

First of all, I want to thank everyone for being so supportive through this whole application publishing and press process.  My family, my friends, and the various Internet celebrities that I have contacted about this.  I have been absolutely floored by the response and I want to thank everyone for making this possible.  But getting back to the point of this post, today was quite a day for both myself and CardShare.  I started today at about 6:45AM when KGO Radio San Francisco called my house and asked for an interview.  Apparently, they had seen the front page Marin Independent Journal interview and wanted to feature me on their “live line”.  On the article front, we need to go back about a week or so.  I contacted the Marin IJ in hopes of a small writeup – nothing major – announcing my application in the local newspaper.  I had absolutely no clue that it would turn into the story that it did.

Back to KGO, we replied a definite yes, and I was put onto The Morning News a short while later.  I won’t explain all of the details, and instead will direct you to the archive section of their website.  Archives only stay live for 7 days, so you better listen to it quick! My part comes in at about 14:28, and lasts for about 5 and a half minutes.  At school, various people came up to me discussing the article and the radio interview.  Needless to say, that was always a good discussion!  I will keep everyone up-to-date on any more press coverings on the blog and on my Twitter account @piercefreeman.

UPDATE: I have updated the “KGO Interview – Radio” link to a page describing my radio interview, where you can click on the “Download” link to listen to it.  For some reason, the “Listen” button brings up another podcast.

UPDATE 2: A link to my interview for KGO Television (the full version) has been added.

UPDATE 3: The YouTube KGO Television links have been added for both the short version (that aired) and the full clip.

UPDATE 4: A link to my interview for Forbes Magazine Online has been added.

Pierce, of course you have a blog, I should have known. Congrats on all the fame and the press. I might have to become better friends with you if I want to be involved in all the perks of knowing someone famous and important. Haha, good job, the app sounds awesome.
